Intro to meditation
Unlock Inner Stillness and Embrace Your True Self through Meditation
The mind is a constant flurry of activity. Its job is to supply us with thoughts for every waking moment of our existence. Most of us do not realize we have a constant companion-the voice in our head, whispering its imaginative notions. Therefore, we welcome our thoughts as truth, emotionally respond inward, and then respond outwardly in our lives. This can cause anxiety, disruptions in our relationships, and missed opportunities. Some of our thoughts are positive and healthy to heed, but many times we are guided by our imagined realities which are shaped by the concepts that our creative mind generously provides.
Meditation is the practice of applying active effort to quiet the mind's noisy chatter so that we may hear and sense our own inner dimension of Self-- where true intuition and wisdom reside. By practicing meditation, we cultivate inner peace and gain mastery over our thoughts, leading to reduced anxiety and enhanced clarity in our lives.
In this workshop, Stephanie will lead us through several exercises that will guide us to and through the on-ramp of a meditation journey. Also included is a special gift to take with you on your path.
About Stephanie: Stephanie wandered into an intensely heated Bikram yoga studio in 2001 and has not left her yoga mat since. As the years went on, Baptiste was the next yoga style to heavily influence her practice. As she became more devoted to her yogic studies and curious about the deeper spiritual practices that complement the yoga postures as a system, the eastern traditional discipline of Ashtanga Yoga became the framework of her studies and practice.
She completed her 200 hours in a one month immersive training, temporarily residing in Miami Beach, with Kino MacGregor and has since traveled the U.S. to complete countless hours of direct studies and training under the various masters of Ashtanga Yoga from India and around the world.
The Ashtanga schooling is a deep dive into the study and execution of each of the traditional poses and Stephanie brings this valuable knowledge to her classes through instruction and cues.
Her Vinyasa classes offer hints of meditative techniques and a unique blend of the above dynamic styles mixed with the wisdom of her own experiential observations, connecting the valuable lessons from the yoga mat to the daily lives we lead. Stephanie teaches Strengthen + Lengthen Wednesdays at 9:30am.
